No congress party man
No Rahul Gandhi fan
Aam Indian Bharatwasi
Naam Hindustaani
Proud to be an Indian
Love to make in India
But now it's break in India
If minds in open speak in India
I pity Uncle Sam - with his deadly guns
Where daily bread comes with daily kills
I pity Russians - with Socialism of Putin vintage
Where one finds some always more (or less) equal
I pity Nicaragua, or Peru, or Iran or Afghan
Where might is right and women are just a wreck
An' despite us the big Bro on the border; so too our puny brothers
Going crazy, with faulty democracy
Proud of Aarsh Bharat, Ahimsa Bharat
Discovering that 'we had it all for eons'!*
Proud to be the Big Brother**
Wallow in egotist eloquence
Now in shame, nay, dread I tread
The holy land of satya ahimsa
As we hail a sarkar that writs:
na brooyat satyam apriyam!
Gone with winds are the dicta
Satyam vada, Dharma cara
The wheel of Dharma in disrepair
With the chariot wheel now on the move!
Omerta! is the new rule
Yes, Silence is now golden for you!
If not, in the least common denominator of calculations,
It's the price of life!
Silence to save your skin;
As our great big brave new state**
The Dharmarashtram+ for all
Runs on the single wheel (leg) of violence!

++The last of the cyclic ages, when the holy cow precariously maintains the balance in spite of being maimed, having just one leg.
Great Fr... I really appreciate... Yes you're talking about silence... By responding loudly in your own classic style... Thanks a lot Fr... Other wise we won't be able to face the qn raised by Castello in his renowned poem "The Apolitical Elites will be questioned?
ReplyDeleteThe poet in you.The distant gloom. The fear of the now.Dare and hope the older guys said. The best of times , the worst of times.
ReplyDeleteYour Poetic silence is an eloquent conveyance of humanism at it's best.
ReplyDeleteAnyway,we hold the view that "If everything is well with our education, everything will be well with our nation".Such nations make our planet more life worthy.
Regards.... greetings
Sure sir. It has never been, but we can hope it will be, or small beginnings could be with us.
DeleteWell said Fr. Prasanth

ReplyDeleteI loved the idea that you have conveyed through this great poem. Though silence is there as the suggested alternative, I felt a strong wave of unfathomed fury in that silence.
ReplyDeleteYes there is a fury in the silence
ReplyDeleteAchan, Very relevant reflections. Always feeling guilty or scary on the silence of the intelligentsia. But it won’t last. More shoutouts, may be subtle will happen
ReplyDeleteYes father Prashant silence is the best weapon in which I can hide my kingdom.
ReplyDeleteYes my fear makes me silent. Often my silence is the approval of the crime unless it touches my skin.
My fear is covered with a loud noise hiding the truth. Oh noise cover me hide me protect me because I am afraid of the truth. So let me imprison, crucify or shoot at site the truth which is terrifying me, let me be silent silent and silent for ever.
It’s well said Father
ReplyDeleteThe nation’s architect wanted India to be the land where the mind is without fear and the head is held high.
Let’s be happy that fear cannot terrorize great minds ππΈππ·πΊ
Nicely worded comment on the safety of silence in these times in our purportedly free and open democratic society .
